In addition to those offered through the school district, many other scholarships and bursaries are available to students. These are listed below:

  • 2014 RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program. Deadline: February 28, 2014.
    The RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program was launched in 1992 to assist Aboriginal students to complete secondary education, and provide an opportunity for RBC to strengthen its relationships with the Aboriginal community. This scholarship is intended to support those Aboriginal students who have at least 2 years remaining in their current academic program. Scholarship recipients are selected primarily on the basis of personal and academic achievements, and individual financial need. Status Indians, Non-status Indians, Inuit and Metis are welcome to apply. Selected students will receive up to $4,000 per academic year for educational and living expenses for 2 to 4 years. RBC awards 10 scholarships in 2 categories for students: 1. Majoring in disciplines related to the financial services industry 2. Majoring in disciplines unrelated to the financial services industry.   • BCGEU 2014 Student Scholarship Awards. Deadline: February 28, 2014.
    The BC Government and Service Employees' Union is offering $45,000 in scholarship awards to students ($3,000.00 to full-time students and $2,000.00 to part-time students) who are members or relatives of BCGEU members or staff. Application and additional information on the BCGEU website.
  • BC Aboriginal Student Award. Deadline: March 31, 2014.
    The Society is administered by the Victoria Foundation. Awards of $1,000 - $5,000 are available to Aboriginal people pursuing post-secondary education at B.C. public post-secondary institutions or Aboriginal-run institutions. The Aboriginal Teacher Education Award supports Aboriginal students enrolled in a teacher education program at a public post-secondary in BC.   • Ministry of Education's Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship. Deadline: March 31, 2014
    The Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship (PTES) is a $5,000 annual scholarship that recognizes exceptional Grade 12 students planning to enter the field of teaching. The PTES will be awarded to 20 graduating students intending to enter a BC faculty of education program. Scholarship winners will be awarded a $5,000 voucher to redeem upon entrance to one of BC's faculty of education programs.  Application materials for students are available at http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/awards/
  • Peter Pasula Study Habits Scholarship ($500). Deadline: April 1, 2014
    Must be attending an accredited post-secondary institution by fall 2014. Must be enrolled by fall of 2014 in any level of any program that is two years in length or longer. Must answer the essay question on the application form. Applications at www.mortgagebrokermapleridge.ca
  • Public Guardian and Trustee Educational Assistance Fund Bursary  2014-2015 Deadline: April 15, 2014
    To be eligible, an applicant must be a former permanent ward of the Province of British Columbia and planning to study at a post-secondary level in an academic, technical or vocational program between September 2014 and August 2015.   • Your Favourite Car Scholarship $500. Deadline: April 30, 2014
    Must be attending an accredited post-secondary institution by fall 2014 at the latest. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a program that is at least 2 years in length. Applications at www.vancouverdealerships.ca
  • Lifetime Eyecare Service Hero Scholarships. Deadline: April 30, 2014
    Lifetime Eyecare is presenting TWO (2) $1,000 “Service Hero Achievement Scholarships” in order to support those special graduating 12th graders who are planning to take their education to a higher level. By identifying a top “hero” who is dedicated to supporting their community, those in need or the planet in general, this scholarship is designed to assist that student in furthering their efforts by supporting their studies. Moreover Lifetime Eyecare wishes to identify a top “hero” who is also dedicated to continuing such important work in the future and that their post-secondary education will be related to their ongoing commitment to helping others, empowering others and/or educating others.   • EFMABC Bursaries. Deadline: April 30, 2014
    The Educational Facility Managers Association of BC is pleased to offer four (4) $1,000.00 bursaries to graduates of the 2013/14 school year. These bursaries are offered to secondary students completing their grade 12 year, who will enter a recognized post secondary educational institution in the 2014/15 terms. Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and/or special needs. Preference will be given to students entering the fields of engineering, architecture, or building technology. Should there not be suitable applications received in these fields, students in other courses or study will be considered, however, all applicants MUST be dependents of school district employees in the school plant area (i.e. Maintenance or Custodial).   • Overwaitea Food Group Scholarships. Deadline: May 1, 2014
    The Overwaitea Food Group has partnered with UFCW Local 1518 to offer ten scholarships valued at $1,000 each to individuals who have played a significant role in diversity initiatives in their school and/or community. Download flyer for additional details.
  • MCO Scholarship ($500). Deadline: May 15, 2014
    Must be attending college or university on a full-time basis no later than December 2014. Must submit an answer to the essay question no later than 11:59PM EST on May 15, 2014. Must be currently in his/her last year of high school or a freshman, sophomore or junior in college/university. Applications at www.missioncreekortho.com
  • Maple Leaf Dentistry Scholarship ($500). Deadline: May 30, 2014
    Must be attending school at the undergraduate level in fall of 2014 and can be enrolled in any year. Must have contributed at least 100 hours of volunteer work over the last 2 calendar years.   • LM Scholarship Program ($500). Deadline: May 31, 2014

  • Odenza Vacations College Scholarship ($500). Deadline: June 1, 2014

  • Global Lift Equipment Scholarship ($500). Deadline: June 15, 2014

  • Compass Mortgage Group Scholarship ($500). Deadline: December 20, 2014
